Easter prank

Every year (for goodness knows how long) I put these little expanded foam eggs in the sweetie dish for Easter weekend. EVERY year DH and both now-adult DC fall for it. Is it silly to still find it hilarious?

I couldn't find this funny, sorry @LadyMonicaBaddingham

ShockedandStunnedRepeatedly · 20/04/2025 17:57

If you like it, and so do they, great!

Bit of a choke hazard! I hope the ones that have already been put in their mouths have been thrown away rather than re-used!

I hate stupid pranks like this. They're just making fun of other people and feeling superior.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 20/04/2025 18:10

Surely they're just humouring you now, which is nice of them. Maybe stop making them feel like they have to do that, the joke must've worn thin.

ginasevern · 20/04/2025 18:35

Why don't you just buy edible eggs for everyone to enjoy? I would've thought this was a "one time only" joke, and not something to do every year. Also, someone might choke on them.

SupremeCommanderOfEverything · 20/04/2025 18:37

Nah, it's passed into family tradition. They're probably humouring you, OP, but that's cute

NetflicksAndSleep · 20/04/2025 18:49

They don’t fall for it. They’re humouring you.

DiamondEyes976 · 20/04/2025 18:53

There’s some right miseries on here. If you enjoy it, you do you OP. I agree it sounds like a little tradition now and is completely harmless. Choking hazard ffs 🙄

Darkclothes · 20/04/2025 18:59

OP- Maybe they just feel sorry for you that you find it so hilarious and they carry on with it for your benefit!

After years of working in A&E and seeing the real life consequences of 'funny pranks' I don't find it funny in the slightest.

CandyLeBonBon · 20/04/2025 19:04

Fall for what? That they’re fake eggs? I guess it’s funnier in person? As long as you all find it funny, crack on!

Gotthemoozles · 20/04/2025 20:54

Wow the sourpusses are out in force tonight. This prank would be well received in my house, OP - everyone would find it at least a bit funny, and some would find it hilarious. Ignore the misery guts!
