Stuck at home with MIL, dullest companion ever, who does not know when it’s time to go home. Thank God there are only Easter and Christmas.

Maybe she's lonely?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 20/04/2025 17:22

Put your pyjamas on and come down and start yawning and drinking cocoa.

Or alternatively say you feel queasy.

Happywithamillion · 20/04/2025 17:25

She is lonely but nobody seeks her company either.

That's sad. I hope your husband is keeping her company.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/04/2025 18:57

I'm not sure whether you meant this in a lighthearted way but its come across as super mean 🥺😄

Bless her, hope she finds some friends who want her around

SwanOfThoseThings · 20/04/2025 19:07

Where is your DH in all of this? There must be something you can both do to liven things up. If all else fails, can't you put a decent film on the telly to watch together?

Bluevelvetsofa · 20/04/2025 19:44

Well, it sounds as though you only see her twice a year, so surely that’s not too onerous.

Maybe she is bored too. There may come a time when no one wants your company either. I expect she’s very aware of your dislike.

LadyKenya · 20/04/2025 19:47

How sad, have you run out of things to talk about?
