Arachnophobes, do not read! Unwelcome (dead) visitor in my shop-bought salad leaves

Nice Easter lunch, with salad on the side - I had bought a bag of 'washed and ready to eat' salad leaves (spinach, watercress and rocket if you're interested), my DS put half of it in a bowl, drizzled vinaigrette on top, I took some and ate most of it, and ONLY THEN - partway through our meal - did DS spot nestled in the serving bowl of leaves, a large dead spider! 😱

It did kind of kill the vibes of our delicious lunch. Thanks Sainsbury's. Kind of horrific to think we could easily have eaten it if it was hidden between 2 large leaves 😱😱

I have taken to re-washing bagged salads/ spinach, and preferably buy unwashed. I just don’t trust them at all.

well I'm certainly going to check them very carefully from now on!!!

I've put the leaves with spider back in the bag, and I'm going to take it back to Sainsbos with the receipt on Tuesday

Er.... maybe they'll give me a voucher as a goodwill gesture? It was their own brand salad.
