Best deodorant?

Hi! Due to early menopause I’ve been sweating so much more than usual lately and my usual deodorant isn’t cutting it. Any suggestions for a nice smelling one that actually works?!

Deodorant only masks smells.

Anti-perspirant blocks sweating for a limited time.

Deodorant is well-recognised shorthand for antiperspirant.

I find the cream 'Maximum Protection' ones to be very good. I needed to upgrade when my hormones went a bit wonky mid-40s. You really need to scrub them off when you shower, they sort of coat the skin. There are Sure and Dove variants which are essentially the same product with different fragrances.

Sure for Men

Perspirex?

bertdynamite · 20/04/2025 12:55

Triple dry is good for me - you need to give it time to dry as it’s a roll on.

treacledan71 · 20/04/2025 13:17

Don't know if it's because I am nearly the other side with menopause but I use mens one and don't sweat. Once I left mine at work and used sons for a couple of days and noticed the difference. I do obviously have to mask the man smell.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 20/04/2025 13:34

Mitchum stick works for me. The roll on is too wet.
You could try perspirex which you apply at night a couple of times a week
Worked perfectly for my son when he had hyperhydrosis as a teen.
Im very lucky that I’ve gone the other way and don’t sweat at all

mynameiscalypso · 20/04/2025 13:44

I used to use Mitchum but it doesn’t work very well for my anymore. I find the Dove stick works better

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 20/04/2025 13:45

Sure maximum protection is excellent

beadystar · 20/04/2025 13:46

Triple dry spray, unscented as I don't like smells. You have to pat it down a little as it can leave marks in dark clothes.

I found my pits started getting smelly during meno hormone changes and tried all the super strength anti perspirants listed above. None of them helped!

But I bought this soap

and use either AKT or Wild deodorant and the problem has gone.

Yeah I also found upgrading my soap helped.

i used Dettol antibacterial soap. Made a big difference.

Copiousamountsofpulses · 20/04/2025 14:29

Sure Maximum protection stick for definite...

Mitchum ruins or clothes, or so it has mine!

bigknitblanket · 20/04/2025 17:19

Mitchum solid stick

PineNutPine · 20/04/2025 18:50

Thanks all. Trying Mitchum! Have actually never tried it before. But I do wear a lot of black so need to be careful!

Mitchum but let it dry well (stick might be better).
