50th birthday ideas

Its my mums birthday in a couple of weeks and she’ll be turning 50. What present ideas do you have if you are on a budget? I was going to get her some nice flowers/vase and chocolate and balloons. I’ve already bought her perfume that she likes and we are going for afternoon tea a week after her birthday as she is going away. Can you think of anything else? Id this rubbish?

I’m about to be 50. I think a budget present I’d really like would be something like photos of family and friends in one of those frames with different holes for photos.

I’m feeling very weird about this birthday and sort of looking for ‘what has been the meaning of life?’ Something that showed thoughtfulness and reminded me of everyone in my life would be really meaningful.

Your mum might not be as angsty as me but it would still be a nice present!

For a good friend’s 50th I once made a scrapbook with 50 great things about him. That would be nice too.

Or a book from each decade of her life, if she’s a big reader.

@Rainallnight has it. Printed photos in an album or frame, from her past and present. And you know what I’d love more than anything from my DS? Just write her a letter, in handwriting, telling her how much you love her and with a couple of memories. She’ll love that more than anything, I promise.

I think what you have is a lovely present. It will vary by person but I would have been delighted with that. Nice to have something you can keep bit it's mainly the thought.

Aw brilliant that’s good, I like the idea of making something more personal too like a photo album or framed photo
