Eyesight over 50

If you are over 50 and have always been short sighted what is your vision like without your glasses now?
I ask because I've always worn glasses but am not seriously short sighted, about a -3 but quite bad astigmatism. When I take off my glasses now my eyesight feels so much worse although still fairly OK with them on. I feel totally at a loss without my glasses now. Did you notice a change?
I'm due an eye test soon and I'm wondering if my prescription has worsened. I'm also going to need some varifocal as can't read with my glasses on.

I'm 57, have had glasses for very mild short sightedness since mid twenties. I think I'm only about a 1.75.
I have varifocals now as need reading glasses as well, obviously common at my age and I don't want separate glasses just for reading.
Over the years my prescription has changed a bit, but tbh I don't feel lost without my glasses. I don't wear them around the house unless for reading/tv but I always wear them when out.
I wouldn't say I have noticed a great change in my eyesight, I think I just notice the slight blurriness when I'm not wearing them because my eyesight WITH glasses is so pinsharp. Ive got used to that sharpness so even a little bit of blurriness is very noticeable.

I think I’m -4 or thereabouts and have worn varifocals since some time in my late 40s (and worn glasses since my mid teens). My vision without specs seems pretty much as it and I can read well without glasses (especially handy for reading in bed) although I think that may be getting a bit harder over time.

Short sighted since school - since turning 56 have to peer under my glasses to look at my iphone - can’t get on with varifocals!

I'm a -7 and have varifocals. I can only see colours and shapes without them on. I had pvd a few years ago and have been left with floaters in my right eye. I sometimes see silver bubbles in the far left of my left eye. I have to use a magnifying panel for my embroidery. I peer over the top of my glasses to thread a needle. I've worn glasses since I was aged nine.
