What is everyone doing over Easter?

OP posts:

Our plan is Church, church, church, and a family party on Easter Sunday.

Monday is a farm park then dinner with the in-laws.

ClassicStripe · 18/04/2025 15:17

Family over tonight for a take out and some drinks. Then having Easter Sunday tomorrow as I’m a cricket widow and it’s the first week of the season. So DP is making a lamb roast tomorrow and we are having family over for that and an Easter egg hunt in the garden. Sunday they will have their eggs and we are going to an egg hunt at the local country house and have lunch at my mums. I absolutely love Easter.

Mikart · 18/04/2025 15:42

Absolutely nothing. Dh is working Sunday /Monday. I will go to the gym both days and then read.

feemcgee · 18/04/2025 15:43

We're both working today, DH working tomorrow and Sunday, kids are teenagers and studying for exams. Nothing different to a usual weekend here.

Tarkan · 18/04/2025 15:57

I volunteer at our local am dram theatre and yesterday was opening night of our current show so I’ll be working there every evening from now until next weekend apart from Sunday. My kids are older now so they’ll get an egg and I’ll enjoy the break from running around picking up costumes.

TheWelshposter · 18/04/2025 15:59

We usually do an egg hunt and enjoy the spring weather, but as it's set to pour down all weekend will probably just stay indoors and eat chocolate. Then have a roast dinner, same as any other Sunday.

TourangaLeila · 18/04/2025 16:04

Dealing with wanker hyperactive kids who are very ready for Tuesday back at school.

jotex · 18/04/2025 16:44

I volunteer in a women’s prison teaching music and the chaplain asked if I would play at the masses on Saturday and Sunday with the women; so that. Having lunch Sunday afternoon with an elderly neighbour and her family, and seeing the guy I’ve been seeing for a while on Monday.

CharSiu · 18/04/2025 16:51

I went to a fuddle last night, a bring and share, pot luck, as some call it. Have DS new GF over for dinner tonight plus board games, DH is doing DIY over weekend. I’m off to see a mate for coffee tomorrow. Packing for our holiday in the Peak District end of next week.

DilemmaDelilah · 18/04/2025 17:30

Doing nothing in particular at all - apart from quite a lot of drop offs and pick ups for my grandson who is a chorister at the cathedral so has loads of duties this weekend.

AusBoundDD · 18/04/2025 17:30

Working!! The joys of healthcare.

weegiemum · 18/04/2025 17:33

Going out tonight for Dh’s birthday, mil is visiting and I’m not well so not cooking!

no idea what we’re doing tomorrow!

Sunday is church then carvery lunch and taking mil to the airport later

monday I am doing nothing at all!! Dh and ds are going out for beer and sausages and then to the cinema to see something I wouldn’t like. I’m going to bed, I’m so tired!

Natsku · 18/04/2025 17:36

We spent the afternoon at the football pitch today having a kickabout and then doing some volleyball practice. Had salmon with hollandaise sauce for dinner and once I get DS in bed I'm going to have a few beers.
Tomorrow going to go see a sofabed someone is selling and hopefully buying it, and will heat up the sauna in the evening.
Sunday we will have an egg hunt as usual, have lamb kleftiko for dinner, and maybe play board games in the evening.
Monday I intend to do some cleaning but likely I will do very little. Maybe a bit more football and volleyball.

Hotafternoon · 18/04/2025 17:42

Due to the weather, gardening is probably not going to happen. Might go into town tomorrow to meet my friend but again, weather dependent. Visiting aged aunt and uncle as see them each week, see if they need any shopping.

Sunday nothing planned, Monday the same. Possibly someone will come round but not actually expecting to see anyone at home.

ghostyslovesheets · 18/04/2025 17:43

Cleared the conservatory yesterday and did a huge tip run

today I have drilled holes in an old wheelbarrow and turned it into a big planter and put together two new garden chairs.

tomorrow I start ripping up some old rotten decking which will take me the rest of the week

will go to church Sunday and cook a nice dinner

sunnydayz43 · 18/04/2025 17:50

Did a tidy round today, last minute shop tomorrow, in the pouring rain, sounds like.
Easter egg hunt for the DC and trad Easter dinner Sunday, relax Monday or maybe clean up garden and then nibble on choc rabbits ears whist watching Netflix.

Racingadmin · 18/04/2025 17:59

Today - Food shopping ,dinner prepping and cleaning followed by book in bath with wine

tomorrow - roast lamb , pulled pork and assorted sides plus homemade brownies and lemon tart . Dinner for 12 aged 2 to 67 while we work out our vague plan for the Orlando holiday that all of us are going on in 4 weeks time

sunday - cleaning up and drinking heavily with Dh and adult dd’s . There may be some highly competitive games of cards and monopoly

Monday - all back working as shift workers or in hospitality

I love Easter far more than Xmas as it’s more about food and family than presents and perfection

ilovebagpuss · 18/04/2025 18:07

Not a huge amount, not religious and don't buy into the make Easter another Christmas massive deal.
When kids were little we would do the egg hunts and crafts.
It's a chance for a rest really. Might go a walk to the bluebell wood or have a wild swim. Teens want to do some baking and go to the cinema.
