Nice restaurant for wedding group Birmingham

Are there any suggestions please for a nice restaurant in Birmingham or a gastropub for a group of 20. It’s for an after registry office wedding party. Not too formal. August wedding so outdoor space would be nice but not essential.

We went to a lovely restaurant a few years ago with a group of about 20 and had a fantastic private room, it's now changed ownership and so I don't know if it's still as good but might be worth checking out, it was The Botanist Gas Street basin

Well we went to The Apollo on the Hagley Road for just that sort of celebration after our wedding. However it was 43 years ago so may not be under the same management now......

Have a look at The Physician in Edgbaston / Five Ways. they have a private room.

Marco Pierre White's at the top of the Mailbox is lovely if you want to walk from the registry office (no outside space but views across the City). Don't think they have a private room though.

Another vote for The Physician. Was there with DS only a few weeks ago. Gastro pub
Lovely food and really nice decor.

Thanks for the suggestions. The Physician looks good. Have also found d The Highgate. Anyone know what that’s like?

I've not heard of the Highgate, and nothing came up in my google search ?

Is it known as another name ?

snowsjoke · 18/04/2025 19:19

Sorry, should have read The High Field.

The Highfield is lovely - had my 50th meal there. The Physician also nice. We had our small wedding do at Edgbaston Golf Club - but many years ago so no idea what it is like now. Berrow Court might be worth a look.

Bank is also nice - been to birthday dinners and the outdoor area is more urban but still
nice. Malmaison is nice if you want accommodation at the same venue but not as nice for outside space
