I’m terrified! Always been a nervous patient but I’ve improved over the years to be able to have fillings etc
Today I’m having an upper wisdom tooth out and suddenly really scared, my heart feels like it’s racing
Someone tell me a good story about tooth extraction please!

I had both my upper wisdom teeth out. I don’t think they have as big roots as other teeth - they came out pretty easily. Take headphones and listen to music and it will be over before you know it

I'm a nervous patient too!

So many dentists understand this and are kind people. Having a tooth out means a bit of bashing and a bit of discomfort but so long as you have the anaesthetic and breathe deeply it will be over as quickly as they can do it.

And then, once it's healed, you never have to worry about that bit of you ever again!

He said they were nice straight roots
I had a tooth extracted once before but he referred me and I said “is this because I’m a wimp or you are?” (Apparently it was because of me not him!)

He’s usually really good with me
Just worried about pain, I’m a redhead and I don’t numb well at all
Theres a small hole in it, no pain but they can’t fill it because of where it is

Nobody told me about the roof of mouth injection!

How did it go?

How did it go?

It was.. ok
the roof of mouth injection was a bit stingy. The actual tooth coming out took about 30 seconds but I could have done without the crunching noises!
Just hoping I don’t get dry socket, but I’ve not needed any pain relief after it at all

Well done - glad it went ok

Obviously too late now but maybe for next time.
I'm an incredibly bad dental patient. I've found that if I stick my ear phones in and listen to a decent playlist it really distracts me from what the dentist is doing.
