School holiday dates

I live in the north east and our local schools are off this week and next week. It seems as though a lot of other schools in England are off last week and this week. When are your local schools off please? We’re going away for a few days next week and I want to gauge how busy it will be. Have I unintentionally hit the jackpot and the rest of the country will be back at school?

Schools round here are off this week and next week.

West Yorkshire here, all the local schools I personally know about are in their second week of Easter break currently and are due back on Tuesday, the day after Easter Monday.

In Devon and our kids were off last week and this week.

Same in North Yorkshire, back 22.04.2025.

If you search Easter Hols This Week (I can't seem to link it) theres a thread with different posters saying when their counties are on holiday over Easter. There are a few back already and lots going back on the 22nd.

Yes, you've hit the jackpot.
We've got the same holiday as you and several people are very happy, as the prices for holidays next week are much cheaper than expected. So Id imagine we are in the minority having the holiday spread evenly over Easter weekend. Enjoy!

In Wales and we go back on the 28th.

Thanks for this 😊 I did a search for school holiday posts before I posted my own but sometimes you need to be very specific with search terms on MN.

It looks like a few other areas will still be off school next week but the majority will have gone back. I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

Cambridgeshire, back on the 22nd

in Sheffield and my kids are back already. We got such a cheap holiday the first week because it was classed as term time. And it was full of kids from Sheffield.

The London people I know go back Tuesday 22nd.

We’re in Wales and always get the 2 weeks either side of Easter off, so the same as you.
Seems most people I know in England have fixed Easter hols first 2 weeks of April though.
It does make a difference if you’re lucky - we end up with different half terms to England sometimes and it does make holidays cheaper!

Back on the 28th - greater Manchester- but yeah most areas are back on 22nd.

London back 22nd, north east back 28th. I think it’s about an even split so depends where you go.

Most of Scotland back next week or sooner.
Lots of England back next week.
Most of Wales on holiday next week - it is week 2 for them.
