What have you thought of the movies you’ve seen this year?

I’ve been to see quite a few movies at the cinema this year (mostly whilst my child has been at nursery), some on my own, some with my partner and one with my mum and child (Flow). I think a lot of them have been pretty bad but some have been good and some have surprised me too!!
Do you agree or completely disagree with what I thought of the movies I’ve seen so far? What did you think of these movies and any others you’ve been to see this year??

Flight Risk - I think this one was alright and it did keep my attention but I felt like it could have done with a bit more of an explanation and a longer ending.

Companion - I think the first half of this was pretty good but then it got a bit too strange and violent.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy - I think this one was pretty good but I don’t think we saw enough of her with the man she ended up with to develop an attachment to him which was quite disappointing. I haven’t seen the other movies before this one and I didn’t find it too confusing.

Memoir Of A Snail - This one was probably my favourite one. It was cute and lovely. There were weird parts and sad parts but it was really good and I would definitely watch it again!

The Last Show Girl - I didn’t think that this one was very good. It was quite sad to see parts of the main characters life but other than that I don’t think there was really much to it. You never even see the show. The ending was really disappointing too. I felt like I had wasted my time after watching this one as there were a lot of unanswered questions and it didn’t feel like much had happened at all.

The Monkey - I think this one was alright but not great. I think it would have been better without the last parts from when the monkey came back as it became a bit too weird.

Wicked - There were definitely some good moments in this movie but it was just so long that I nearly fell asleep and then when it ended it wasn’t even the end!! I really wanted to watch this one as well so I was quite disappointed. I’m not saying it was awful because there were parts that I enjoyed but I think it could have easily been 2 hours max especially with it not even ending.

One Of Them Days - I really enjoyed this one!! There was always something happening, it was a good length and it was easy to follow throughout.

Flow - This is a really nice movie. I thought it might get boring with it having no words but it has some really sweet moments and it is very easy to watch.

Novocaine - This movie wasn’t what I thought it would be but it was still mostly pretty good.

Black Bag - I found this one really strange. It was watchable but it wasn’t very good and the ending wasn’t great.

A Minecraft Movie - I actually enjoyed this one and I would watch it again. I am a roundling. All human people are roundlings. I have never played the games so I’m probably seeing it very differently to most people who have seen it.

Disney’s Snow White - I didn’t think I would really like this one but I actually really enjoyed it. I thought the dwarfs were a bit creepy/ looking at first but I loved Dopey - he was so sweet!!

Drop - This was just terrible.

Haven’t seen as many as you but :
loved The Substance (though the end was stupid)
and hated Mickey 17. What a waste of time.
A Complete Unknown was good but not great.
Real Pain was a bit irritating.
Wicked was too heavily CGI.

Wicked .. loved it , can’t wait for part 2

Better Man …again , loved it , the big song dance routine in Regent Street (?) l
was breath taking

Bridget Jones … another brilliant film , laughed and cried

I’ve recently been to see Red One, Wicked, Moana2, Mufasa, Here, and Snow White. All of them were okay… nothing special. My favourite was probably Mufasa.

I absolutely loved A Complete Unknown. Maybe it helped to be a Dylan fan. I have been on a Dylan jag ever since in the car and even played some Joan Baez.

Bridget Jones was entertaining but I was a bit fixated on her odd face and the huge age gap in her relationship with the tree bloke whose name I have forgotten.

@RaininSummer I LOVE Dylan, I’ve got a Dylan only playlist but I just didn’t love the film. I preferred I’m Not There the more experimental one years ago
