Braces - elastic bands

Really didn’t know where to post this! Apart from going back to our orthodontist, does anyone know a good place to buy fixed braces elastics? The ones that join top and bottom sets of teeth. Amazon have them but not in the right measurements. We were given 300 but some have disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle that’s the teenager’s bedroom and what we have left wont last to the next appointment.

Just call them tomorrow and ask if you can pick some extras up.

Was hoping to avoid as it’s an hour round trip!

Ask them to post them to you.

Doesn't teen get the checked and changed regularly at dentist anyway? DD has to visit dentist each month and they check and replace each time and do whatever it is that's needed.

Yes, she gets checked every six weeks. As I said, the bands we have won’t be enough to last to the next appointment - was only asking if there is somewhere easy to buy them from to avoid the hour round trip to the orthodontist.

No , do not buy elastics from the internet, you do not know the gauge ,size etc needed and too much force will permanently damage the teeth.
Get the teenager to phone up to ask orthodontist if they would send some in post and maybe they won't lose the next set.

Our orthodontist posted some out regularly.

Call them and ask if they can post them.

You should never buy elastics from Amazon as they need to be of a specific gauge etc. besides which these are elastics to secure wire to brackets, not the elastics that connect top and lower jaws, which are completely different.
Using the wrong things can permanently damage the teeth, in worst case resulting in losing a tooth or teeth.

Thanks all. I know the size and gauge needed, but couldn’t find them online so was just asking if someone knew an easy place to buy them but obviously not. Will call the orthodontist tomorrow.
