I’ve just fixed a tape measure watching a video.
Dropped it off a shelf and it wouldn’t retract so of course my first thought was to YT it!
All good now so 👍🏻

Have you learnt or repaired anything via YT?

During lockdown, how to unblock a toilet with a two-litre plastic lemonade bottle. Toilet was blocked with paper towels.

Another time, how to dismantle and clean cassette toilet from our caravan. I had used it when mostly in bed for two months after falling downstairs and mangling my ankle.

I must say I often go to YouTube to find out how to do things round the house.
They are really helpful but I get really irritated by all the chat and stuff that I have to listen to before they start giving the information I actually want.
The most helpful information I've had was about how to set the thermostat timer for the central heating boiler.

So many things

How to change the heating element in my oven

I'm hoping also to be able to connect my washing machine soon, thanks to YouTube

@mumofoneAlonebutokay DH and DS have fixed our oven twice watching YT - once for the heating element and then for the thermostat!
Good luck with your washing machine connection.

So many things. But my favourite is fixing my Kitchenaid mixer some years ago. Kitchenaid at the time asked me to send the item to The Netherlands to be fixed and the cost of posting and fixing such heavy item was a few pounds cheaper than buying a new one.
But BillyBob from Albuquerque shown on YT how to open the mixer, find the problem and fix it. I ordered the broken piece online for £8 and fixed it following his instructions.
Since then BillyBob has become a legend here.
