What pans do you have?

We desperately need some new pans. We’ve had so many pan sets since 2010 and I’m fed up of them wearing out. My MIL has had the same set of pans since she got married around 40 years ago and they’re still going strong! I want a set that does that. So recommend me some pans that’ll outlive me (I’m 33 btw)

We have Stellar and they are good. However I do think it's worth reading recent reviews as so many products which have a good name are no longer as good as they were.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 12/04/2025 16:51

Has anyone tried the ninja ones?

Myengagementring · 12/04/2025 16:55

Robert Welch pans, had them over 10 years and they are still going strong

We have a set from next, white and grey and absolute shite as they stayed white and grey for about a month despite being carefully hand washed.

Lots of votes for stainless steel but cleaning them sets my teeth on edge the feel of them goes through me.

Scoville Recently bought for induction hob

Karlkennedyslovechild · 12/04/2025 17:09

Le Creuset stainless steel. Got them after we were married 13 years ago and still perfect. They’ll probably outlast the marriage!

TheTwenties · 12/04/2025 17:12

Stellar - had them 30 years. Opted not to go for non stick frying pan in the set and just have an additional non stick frying pan which gets changed periodically. If anything gets burnt in them I just make a paste of bicarbonate of soda and scrub. They are very sadly going to have to retire soon as they won’t work with induction -presumably newer sets do.

TropicofCapricorn · 12/04/2025 17:15

Stainless steel here. They're brilliant. Just need to get used to cooking with them and once you're there, your set.

They're pretty much the same as any non stick pans.

Thefunnel · 12/04/2025 17:17

Le Creuset stainless steel. They are absolutely brilliant. Used daily for over 20 years I think.

Iambouddicca · 12/04/2025 17:20

Stellar stainless steel. My first set were still good after 30 years, unfortunately I have had to change them as the old ones weren’t induction compatible. So I have invested in some identical ones from the new range to work on an induction hob. Very happy with them and expect this lot to last me out!

Olderkids · 12/04/2025 17:26

Very pleased with Green Pan

festive · 12/04/2025 17:27

Le Creuset. I have the cast iron ones and a set of the stainless steel ones. From our wedding 17 years ago and the stainless steel ones still look brand new (we cook a lot!). If money was no object I’d like a couple of the Stanley Tucci ones now.

CatherinedeBourgh · 12/04/2025 17:28

The only thing that has survived in our house is hexclad

SocksShmocks · 12/04/2025 17:31

Samuel Groves stainless steel (not non stick). I have two frying pans and would buy more if I was in the market for saucepans but we already have enamel iron Le Crueset from 20 years ago (excellent but they are v heavy). I would steer well clear of non stick. That’s what makes pans not last in my experience.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 12/04/2025 17:46

I also have Stellar pans. They were a bit pricey, but still look as good as new and we're just less than five years down the line, so it's good to hear that people still have them 30+ years on!

I have family members who rate the IKEA stainless steel ones. I have no idea what makes my grandmother's are. They were probably 1950's wedding presents. They weigh a ton, have lasted since then, and would safely knock out or possibly kill any passing burglar 😂

DGPP · 12/04/2025 17:48

Le Creuset stainless steel. 15 years old, still like new

Nannyfannybanny · 12/04/2025 17:49

Judge saucepan set 25 year warranty
Luckily work on my induction hob.. I agree, non stick are rubbish.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 12/04/2025 17:52

John Lewis stainless steel classic set, bought 1998, made in Belgium and still going strong. Additionally a stainless steel heavyweight wok, a cast iron griddle and frying pan both made in England.

purplepie1 · 12/04/2025 18:02

I have a few but my best ones are from steller and John Lewis. The John Lewis one I love. It has a heavy bottom and seems to cook food better.

FondantFancyFan · 12/04/2025 18:08

My uncle bought me a set of pans from argos as a wedding present in 2001, they're still going strong. Similar to this set but without the non stick coating:

Le Creuset triple ply stainless steel, with steel lids and steel handles. They are brilliant, and bullet proof.

roses2 · 12/04/2025 18:20

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 12/04/2025 14:02

How does that work?
Into need receipts?
I have Circulon and the coating is coming off.

Agree that stainless steel is the way to go. I’ve been reading too much on forever chemicals.

I filled out the form on their website with photos, no receipt needed. Got an email about 20 days later saying my pans look abused but they’d send a new set as goodwill.

Oh wow that’s amazing!
Do you have to send them the pans?
But I did laugh at abused. They’ll probably say that about mine.

caringcarer · 12/04/2025 18:31

Brabantia stainless steel pans. I had a set of 3 then I bought an additional single large one. Still really shiny, you would never guess they are 20 years old.
