Has somebody put the bluebells out in the maidenhead area?

I'm planning on going to Cliveden House tomorrow to visit the bluebells. Are they about if I go for a gambol around the woods there?

They don't get" put " out there. They grow .

But are they actually "growing" at the moment? Nature can vary a bit from year to year. Mine are out but I live in West Berkshire so the sun comes over later than Maidenhead.

I went and found that the bluebells had been put out and that Maidenhead is a bit of a shithole I've never been inside a high security Sainsbury’s before. All windows reinforced with metal lattice and having to scan your receipt to open the gate after the checkout was interesting.

What do you mean put out though?

Mysterian · 12/04/2025 17:03

With blue bits on the top of them. Didn't want to go unless they had been put on yet.

I still don’t get this ‘put out’ thing. Nature blooms when it wants, humans don’t put out flowers unless they are cut flowers in vases?!

ohtowinthelottery · 12/04/2025 17:05

What you meant was 'are the bluebells flowering yet'

MrsMitford3 · 12/04/2025 17:05

I suspect OP not a gardener.

Think they mean are the bluebells in bloom at Cliveden.

What that has to do with the high security Sainsbury's I have no idea but am here for it...

saveforthat · 12/04/2025 17:08

There is a phrase "are they out" as in, are the bluebells out yet? What I didn't understand was has someone put them out.

DPotter · 12/04/2025 17:10

You have to scan your receipt at my local Sainsbury's too. Have done for some time.

NT sites will usually say when their bluebells are out, as in blooming.

BeaAndBen · 12/04/2025 17:11

@MrsMitford3 I suspect the OP is a stranger to English. The bit about Sainsbury’s is just odd.

If you mean “are they in flower”, it’s on the early side. A local wood has some in flower at the moment but most aren’t ready yet. Even if some are out you’ll likely see a better display in a couple of weeks or more.

Mysterian · 12/04/2025 17:11

I joined the Trust when I went. Probably why they put the bluebells out for me. The daffodils were a touch brown and crispy though.

The ones in the park near me weren’t out on Wednesday.

JollyHolly30 · 12/04/2025 17:13

Boring rage bait. Nothing better to do OP?

Mysterian · 12/04/2025 17:15

I pooped in Sainsburys as I was passing and it's a convenient car park for the town centre and wanted to buy a present for my friend's birthday.

I dare not ask if that is a typo or intentional?

Gundogday · 12/04/2025 17:17

Not out in Kent yet, apart from odd or two. Usually end of April here.

Mysterian · 12/04/2025 17:18

"Popped".
I avoid solids when out and about.

"Maidenhead is a bit of a shithole I've never been inside a high security Sainsbury’s before"

Which Maidenhead were you visiting? Because although there is one area of the borough that has deprivation (where doesn't?) it is nowhere near the Sainsburys, and Maidenhead is considered a rather good area. If you are judging it by the Sainsburys, other stores are rolling out the same exits, and many of them are not Sainsbury's. Are you just pissed off that they didn't "put out" a red carpet for you?

Fifiesta · 12/04/2025 17:20

Out on the downs in West Sussex, for a couple of weeks.
lucky us also under the trees with the primroses,

MrsMitford3 · 22/04/2025 17:16

Popped back to say someone has indeed put the bluebells out at Cliveden.

Spectacular!!!

FanSpamTastic · 22/04/2025 20:13

They are out around Marlow!

Mysterian · 22/04/2025 20:17

One of the Cliveden bluebells I saw last weekend. There were dozens more.

Has somebody put the bluebells out in the maidenhead area?
