So I have a group chat with 4 friends on Facebook messenger. I was meeting 1 of these friends today. I messaged her to let her know when I was setting off. I then accidentally managed to make a video call to the whole group. This was very quickly ended when I realised my mistake and no-one answered the call.
Another friend from the group was out shopping with her dh at the same time. His phone rang and when he went to look at it she noticed our names coming up . So effectively he got called when I made the accidental group call.
Im struggling to understand how this happened. I don’t have her dh’s phone number , and neither do any of the other friends in the group. Can anyone explain this to me.

Does he have her fb logged in on his phone?

Not as far as I know. Don’t think he’s on facebook

But she may have used his phone to access it at some point in past, or attached his phone number to her account.

You have to have a facebook account in the first place to use messenger, although you can then deactivate your facebook and just keep the messenger function. Could you have actually sent something like a WhatsApp video call but thought you were logged into messenger? Otherwise I’m inclined to think he was logged into her account on his phone.

She logged in on his phone at some stage.

Yes he has messenger on good phone and is logged into her messenger account. Hopefully she’s ok with that.

It definitely wasn’t WhatsApp. S

She was very surprised at it all and doesn’t think he is logged into her messenger account

This is definitely possible

I suppose what I’m worried about is that he can see our messages. It’s all pretty tame stuff- I just prefer to have consented to someone seeing what I’m currently moaning about
