Is slimpod weight loss programme just hypnosis?

On a whim I signed up to Slimpod last night. I listened to the main pod last night twice as I was going to sleep and there is a difference to my eating today. Normally I am having to really try and resist the urge to snack, eat something sweet, have a can of coke but today its been easy, it actually reminds me of my time on Mournjaro which worked great and I lost 25lbs but I couldn't afford it anymore and I have since regained about 5lbs of that weight.

My issue with my weight is that I just snack too much, usually chocolate and full sugar cola sometimes 3 cans in a day and 2 or three chocolate bars. My actual diet i.e. my main meals are healthy although I could eat smaller portions at time, everything is cooked from scratch, mostly veggies and wholegrains etc.

My main issue is being a sugar addict. So its a surprise today to not be wrestling with sugar cravings at all, its just quiet.

I haven't watched any of the instructional video's yet just listened to the pod twice last night. At most I might fancy a cup of green tea.

The thing is I have 10 days free and then it's £33 a month for three months which would be £100 but there only seem to be 4 hypnotherapy type pods. Looking on the website the meals they recommend are not really relevant for my vegetarian diet and the videos appear to be basic information on healthy eating I already know. I've been a part of weight loss online communities before and its not for me.

I am just a bit hesitant because you can buy weight loss hypnosis programmes for £10 - £20 which you can download and keep forever which is a sharp contrast to £100 for slimpod. I am still kicking myself for spending £60 on noom last year which I found useless as the app didn't even count your calorie intake accurately.

Can anyone offer any view on this, is it just hypnosis, is their another hypnosis weight loss programme I could try which doesn't cost so much money.

I have only ever used the hypnosis recordings and I found them first one and the exercise one really effective. I was less keen on the second on as I felt it set me back. Once you've paid you have them forever - there's no annoying subscription or anything like that. I would listen for a week and then decide how you feel. It worked for me.

@mustytrusty Thanks I appreciate your feedback. I just think the cost is quite steep for the audios but I have a while to decide yet.

Funnily enough I've had a few ads on my insta and fb for things like hypnozia and another one that I can't remember the name of and they apparently have the subscription thing which I hate so I was actually glad that I'd found slimpod first!

I've just downloaded Paul Mckenna's hypnosis CDs I can make you thin, (on Audible £7.00) which I assume is a similar approach. ie. Only eat when you're hungry, really think about/enjoy/chew every mouthful, stop eating when you're full, eat what you want, not what you feel you should eat. I only started the recording yesterday - it's supposed to work with your subconscious mind. The jury's out at the moment...

It’s meant to be ‘neuro-linguistic programming’, not hypnosis. But it’s very similar. I didn’t find it that useful tbh but I’m not generally someone who is susceptible to ‘thought’ stuff so I just sit there the whole time being annoyed at the weird word choice and voice inflections. But some people report good success with it.

The FB group is a bit bonkers and happy clappy, so approach with caution if you do sign up.

I tried it, unfortunately didn't work for me and I gained weight.

Agree with PP, the Facebook group is like a cult and the admin turn off comments on any posts that might show the programme in a not so positive light.
