Washing machine troubles

Last two loads (week apart) and the machine didn’t sound quite right; I also noticed a lot of what looks like washed paper/tissue on the clothes (just assumed something ended up with the wash first time, but was annoying second time especially as I’d cleaned the machine).

Decided to give the machine a good clean again and run it empty (short cycle) to see what happens.
It’s filling and draining as it should but the drum isn’t spinning.
washing machine is 13 years old, so is it worth trying to get this fixed or should I give up on it and try to find something else?

Did you unscrew and clean the filter?

Speak to a local engineer, see what they advise, probably needs replacing, at 13 irs done well

It does sound like the filter. There should be a small flap at the bottom of the machine for access.
Undo the flap, empty excess water through drain hose, then get a tray or some towels to collect excess water and unscrew the circular filter, clean that out then replace. I've found all sorts when I've done that.
