Interested in where you are and how much you pay for a cappuccino?

cotswolds and generally £3:80 for a standard large cup, although £3:20 for smaller cup.

Scotland paid 3.70 for a decent cappuccino to go in independent place in Scone, Costa is 4.15 (large).

I do feel it’s gotten expensive, I think 2.50- 3.00 sounds about right.

I don't know because I don't drink cappuccino, but I think they're usually the same price as a latte, aren't they?

In our local village, there are multiple places to buy a latte, the cheapest is pub at the far end of the village £2.69, it's drinkable but not the nicest one in the village. There's a Greggs, I can't remember how much that is but they usually have some kind of special deal going with food but for various reasons I don't really eat anything much from Greggs so really go there m, they did get a takeaway one the other day as it's the nearest one to the bus stop and I had very limited time before the bus came. Most of the other places are either £3.75 or £3.95, I think the place that rates itself a bit might be about £4.50, but it's been ages since I've been in there, mainly because it has no outside seating. I like to sit outside even through most of the winter.

I don't really drink coffee so I looked up the menu of Cafe East which is round the corner (and there are always queues). It's £3.

I pay £3.60 for a small and £3.90 for a large. It’s great coffee so happy to pay that.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 11/04/2025 00:05

Large cappuccino here £4.40( Wiltshire)
I can’t afford these days

DramaAlpaca · 11/04/2025 00:13

Mid-West of Ireland. A large cappuccino is €3.60 in most places, but can be more.

PyrannosaurusRex · 11/04/2025 00:25

Around £3.60-80 for a large cappuccino here in the West Mids. I was surprised to pay £3.70 in Tesco’s cafe - more than in the chi-chi cafes in town; in my mind, supermarket cafes were supposed to be a little cheaper. Not anymore.

Wintersoltice · 11/04/2025 00:38

£4 regular, £4.20 large. That's in a a trendy local cafe nearby but it would be a bit cheaper at other places. It is good coffee.

Time40 · 11/04/2025 00:51

They are £5 in Tebay services. Five pounds!!! I refuse to buy a coffee at that price.

Time40 · 11/04/2025 00:52

... I know Tebay services isn't "where I am" but I go through it so often that it feels sort of local!

Crushed23 · 11/04/2025 01:10

$6-6.50 in an independent place, a bit cheaper at Starbucks and the like.

Lostsadandconfused · 11/04/2025 01:28

AUD 5.50 in the very fancy coffee place around the corner (inner Melbourne suburb), so GBP 2.60.

Airpowercper · 11/04/2025 01:30

About $5.00.

HeySnoodie · 11/04/2025 02:53

generally quite expensive it seems but good coffee is good coffee. I used to occasionally go to our local Tesco express machine for a quick one but refuse now, the cappuccino has had no froth for 6 months and the froth is the best bit!

To be fair, Tebay exists in its own little WTF economic microclimate, even by service station standards, and I say that as someone who loves it. If a Tebay latte cost £7 because it was made with milk from a cow called Janet whom you can see through the window, and served in a recyclable cup made from Herdwick sheep knackers, you’d just go, oh, OK… Tebay, fair enough.

My Tesco machine is similar although the co-op one is still good. I still buy it as part of the meal deal £3.60 for coffee, the healthiest looking salad pot and a couple of boiled eggs seems decent value to me. I think I’m an addict but coffee is really my only vice. No fizzy drinks, alchohol or cigarettes.

I think they make their money on coffee and things so keep the headline price of stuff quite low.

LandSharksAnonymous · 11/04/2025 09:29

£4.00 (for a large - 12 oz) - South East and family owned

But my place of choice when I commute is just outside CX station. £3,70 for a large - although I pay £4.70 for the extra shot as I need it! Family business again.

So cheaper than a chain, and much nicer

Lucytheluckyone · 05/05/2025 14:15

We are in Edinburgh and my husband and I are shocked by the price of coffee these days, I actually refuse to get takeaway anymore and just buy it if I’m sitting in/meeting friends. Round our area a latte in some places is £4.10, with 50p on top of you want iced!!
