Has chicken changed?

Or is it just me, and somthing i've simply gone off? Not a huge deal but just pondering out loud about it.

Over the past few weeks when I've had chicken it has tasted odd, i cant really explain it but each time I've had to stop eating it after a couple of forkfuls. No changes in where i buy it or how its cooked and it from other people too.

Has anyone else noticed a taste/texture change to chicken recently or is it just a me issue?

I was ill a couple of weeks ago with that throat virus going around and it was around this time when I noticed the issue, but nothing has changed since I got rid of it so maybe it has done something to my tastebuds long term. Or maybe my prayers have been answered and I've found the solution to eating a bit more veggie 😅

It’ll be your illness - hopefully it’ll be gone soon

Almost certain that it's the virus. I had the proper flu in January, haven't have that for a couple of decades, and the same happened to me. Which was a bastard, because chicken is my favourite meat. The 'proper' taste didn't come back for weeks.

I only buy organic because I noticed this, it’s really wet and soft and doesn’t really have a flavour. I’ve chosen to eat less of it and buy better and it tastes like chicken did when I was a child

I think only chicken on an actual chicken carcass tastes good now tbh. I can’t afford organic breasts, they’re upwards of £8. I’d rather pay for a free range whole chicken and at leafy I get a few meals and stock off it.
