Afternoon in Brighton

DH is taking the Dses to watch football in Brighton on Saturday. I am going along for the ride, but not going to the match. I fancy a change of scenery & not really been to Brighton for years.

Can I please have some suggestions of things to do for a few hours in Brighton, on my own? I think they'll have the car at football, so will need to be something accessible by walking or public transport. Thanks!

You will need to include time to buy tissues for them to wipe their tears, unless they are hardened to the Foxes recent inability to win.

I agree about the four or more hours, I do think you could consider Lewes and visit the castle instead of Brighton.

They are lifelong Foxes fans, so definitely well accustomed to losing 🙈🦊

Update: I am nearing the end of my solo stint in Brighton & had a lovely time!

We drove & parked in Worthing, near the station, £7 for the day. The others get free buses & trains within the area with their football tickets so only my train payable, again about £7.

We arrived about 10, had chips & a wander around Worthing seafront & pier (lovely place!), then got train to Brighton & parted ways.

I stopped in a nearby Cafe Nero to claim a free coffee & charge my phone. Stayed a while as didn't want to get caught up in the Palestine protest outside 😳 Then wandered to the seafront, The Lanes, The Pavilion park & finally the library (busman's holiday, I work in one so wanted to check it out).

Now having a G&T in pub by Worthing station while I wait for them to get back.

It's been a really nice day & I have loved being able to wander & stop on my own time, wherever I wanted to! Love Brighton which I found vibrant & quirky, but also Worthing, which feels like the shy but sophisticated little sister.

And the Foxes didn't even lose 🥳 I mean, they didn't win, but they didn't actually lose!

Lovely day. I love the Pavilion location of that library.

I love The Lanes, great place for a wander and coffee or bit of lunch after a look around the shops, then a stroll to the beach perhaps!

They scored as well so that must have been exciting!
