I feel ridiculously guilty for leaving work.

I’ve accepted a new job. Closer to home, more money, better hours, easier work.

I should be thrilled.

I feel guilty for leaving my current team. I like them a lot (apart from one who is one of the reasons I’m leaving), my manager has been lovely and I’ve had lots of good times there.

However, the travelling is a PITA and one of the newer staff has made a game out of being rude to me which I CBA with. Also, there is risk of redundancy.

So, I’m off.

But I feel so guilty. How do I feel less guilty?

Remember that to a company/job you are just a number on a payroll that can be replaced without hesitation. You should put your health and happiness first because nobody else will!
If you've made friends with the team they will be completely understanding and supportive of your reasons behind getting the new job, congratulations BTW, sounds much better for you !

Possibly because when you hand in your notice it's like your saying 'I don't want you any more', and we're taught not to be mean or rude. What you're really doing is taking an opportunity that looks like it will improve your life in various ways. Congratulations on your new job. The old job will feel like a distant memory after a month or two of the new one starting.
