For me its a Sweater Shop jumper which was bought in one of the factory sales TSS used to have in the mid 90s. It's very thick and baggy which only wear if unwell or freezing cold outside.

It must be 30 years old.

...oh and also a pair of Converse hi-tops that are around 30 years old. Just get worn for decorating nowadays

BrickHedgehog · 09/04/2025 18:37

A pair of baggy jeans that I got some time in the late 1980s , don’t wear them much but I had them on this morning .

KezzyBoo21 · 09/04/2025 18:37

A ribbed v-neck black jumper which I got for Christmas 1985 when I was 17, I believe from Etam. I stopped wearing it outside after maybe 3-4 years but I’ve worn it as a ‘bed jumper’ on winter nights ever since!

lalaloopyhead · 09/04/2025 18:40

I've got a band t-shirt from 1987 which comes out occasionally...it's looking a bit worse for wear now so only bring it out when going to see actual band or tribute band.

MiddlingMarch · 09/04/2025 18:41

Apart from some pants and socks that are at least 10 years old, I have a 15yr old fleece and a 12yr old waterproof jacket.

I have 30yr old tshirts but they feel too
small precious to wear, even in bed.

Meadowfinch · 09/04/2025 18:46

A silk Escada evening dress that I bought in 1996 for a very special occasion.

Horribly expensive at the time but worth every penny.

MarxAndSparx · 09/04/2025 18:50

A grey wool overcoat with fake fur trim and big collar and lapel. (very ‘mob wife’ which was a micro trend not long ago😂)

It was originally my big sisters, she bought it from Warehouse in the late 90s. I borrowed it for a night out when I was 16. I think she got fed up of me asking to borrow it all the time, as she eventually said ‘just keep it’ 🫣

I’ve received numerous compliments whenever I’ve worn it over the years!

ChaToilLeam · 09/04/2025 19:15

I have an ancient Chelsea Girl blouse that I think I bought in 1985, and a Bauhaus T-shirt from around the same time. 😀

Also a beautiful vintage coat which I think is 60s, and a few wraps that belonged to my great aunt, also about 1960s. And a couple of dresses my grandma made for herself in the 70s, I’m pretty much her size and shape.

PeskyRooks · 09/04/2025 19:25

I have a The Damned tshirt that I bought with my first pay packet from my first job (in Woolworths!) when I was 16.
I still wear it it is so soft and washed grey, has a stain from black hair dye on it, it says 'Young Hot Loud and Stiff'. Now I'm nearly 50 I'm just the last one!

IdLikeThingToSpiralIntoControl · 09/04/2025 19:50

A 1971 midnight blue, velvet maxi dress handed down from DM. I wore it to a New Year’s Eve party last year.
A smart winter coat from around 2001 that I still wear for funerals and winter evenings out.

BeaLola · 09/04/2025 19:53

A M&S natural coloured linen shirt bought in January 2025 to replace the red jumper that then boyfriend, now DH, bought me as part of my Christmas present - I needed to change the size after Christmas but jumper no longer in shock so hence the shirt

Said shirt has been on nearly every holiday with us , at the moment it doesn't fit as I'm plumper than then but I still have it and if I can lose enough weight would wear it again

RandomMess · 09/04/2025 19:56

A 2nd hand little black dress I was given by a friend in 1992.

I wear it as a petticoat under sheer day dresses.

stayathomer · 09/04/2025 19:57

My pink patterned wellies are 21 this year and I wear them walking the dog daily (he has bitten part of them off too😅. I bought them for 25euro for a music festival and went around telling everyone how expensive they were because I couldn’t believe how much they cost!

Kissedbyfire1 · 09/04/2025 19:58

A beaded, mirrored suede jacket that I bought from a boutique in Knutsford in 1990. Love it.

goingback · 09/04/2025 20:06

DP bought some outdoor clothes when we met in 1995 and I still wear the Rab fleece most of winter,

Moier · 09/04/2025 20:11

A Biba T shirt l bought in London on a school trip in 1974.
So it's 51 years old.
But l cut the front off and sewn it onto another t shirt.
I've just googled and look at the photo and the price.🤦‍♀️.
Mines like the one on the left.. but l keep it in my villa in Lanzarote

I have an animal kingdom sweatshirt from Disney which I bought when I took my son when he was 7 . He’s 40 this weekend and it still looks great.

QuaintPanda · 09/04/2025 20:20

An oversized Kermit Klein (under where?) Muppet parody t-shirt I bought in 1996 and is still used as a night shirt. I have another from that range as well as 2 large Wallace and Gromit t-shirts from when A Close Shave came out.

A lot of my business wear is between 10-15 years old. Paired with jeans these days rather than the tailored trousers and skirts of old.

Moier · 09/04/2025 20:27

Think l win .. mines 51 years old.. lol.

WhitegreeNcandle · 09/04/2025 20:31

vandelier · 09/04/2025 16:32

Probably not the worst of things to have for nearly 12 years, but a black long stylish (still, as in timeless, I think!) midi length jacket/coat. It has quilted lining and although it didn't cost much it looks ok still.

I use it for Winter funerals. Of which there are more now that my parent's generation (and some of my own sadly) are passing away. Always good to have a funeral "go to" item or two. One that sits in the wardrobe all the time, but can be pulled out when needed for such occasions.

I bought myself a funeral coat a couple of years ago and felt truly grown up.

Sadly it’s well used and appreciated every time I get it out!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 09/04/2025 20:51

A sleeveless shirt from Dorothy Perkins 1993.

LlynTegid · 09/04/2025 20:52

I think I have a pair of shoes from the 1990s.

Pavone · 09/04/2025 20:52

I have a short blue floral shift dress from Top Shop that I wore to a wedding when I was 14. I’m now 42 and still often wear it. It’s just one of those perfect garments that can be dressed up or down. I should probs tell my son to make sure I’m buried in it, along with a zip-up fitted brown hoodie that I also bought from Top Shop perhaps a year later, and still wear often.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 09/04/2025 21:20

M&S, real sheepskin flying jacket, purchased 42 years ago.

MinkyWales · 09/04/2025 21:49

A t-shirt from a concert in 1988.
