Anyone else’s kids get up earlier in the holidays?

Just that. Usually both in bed at 7:45 for 8pm sleep and up at 7:30am for getting ready for school. Have relented slightly on bedtime and bedtime is between 8pm-8:45pm (although that was only last night). Since being off since Saturday, DC have gotten up between 6am- 6:45am. Anyone else’s DC the same? I can’t sleep when they’re awake so I’m up as soon as they are (although DS usually comes in to wake me up)🥲 they’re a few weeks off 8&6.

Yes!! Even generally during the week I’m waking them at 7.30/8 and on a weekend they are up before 7!!! During the week bedtime is 8.30 and 9 on weekends. My boys have always been like this are and almost 9&11. And like you I can’t sleep knowing they are awake 😔

Yep I'm up with the toddler at 4am and my 7 and 10year old wake up at 5am. 10 year old may stretch to 6am or 7am the odd occasion. They pretty much do that all the time but in the holidays they are much more ready to go. As in wanting to play instruments and play fighting at the crack of dawn 🙈 by lunchtime it feels like I've done a full week with them !

Yes!! School days I'm dragging my DD out of bed. The weekends/holidays she's up and ready to go by 7am latest. Just one Long lie would be great!!

Mines 16 now and is the only teen I know up and out of bed at 630am (whatever day of the week it is). I was so grateful when he was old enough to be left unattended in the morning.

I was as a child!!

Looking back I feel for my parents! Because they both worked, we had to be up extra early to go to a childminder before school and especially in the winter never wanted to get up so I had to be 'nagged', but weekends and holidays were disgustingly early. Me and my siblings best game at the time was shops, so we'd (probably quite noisy) take loads of stuff from the kitchen (tins packets etc) and set up a shop in the bedroom (next to my parents room naturally) and start playing...

He may have said it often, but I only remember the once with a deep deep sigh my dad asked why we had to get up so early on the weekends and the holidays we are pain on school days 🙄

I explained for the 4 millionth time that we were old enough (10&6) to leave for school from our own home and to go to our own home after school and didn't need to be up at the crack of dawn to go to the childminders like babies!!

He was obviously quite a patient man 🥰
