Can I put anything in this corner?

Bit of a decorating one!
As title says, wondering what I can do with this empty space between the stairs and the bathroom. Anyone got any ideas?
I was thinking a very tall, thin floor vase with something like lavender in it would be nice, but I can’t seem to find the right thing?

Can I put anything in this corner?

Maybe two long thin pictures either side of the window and a plant on the windowsill? There isn't space to put anything safely on the floor in the corner imo.

The pictures on the stairs need to be higher up - they must be at waist height as you go up or down the stairs.

And yes to the pictures on the stairs being far too low.

A small basket of things to go up or down stairs.

I might do a few tiny pieces of art above and below the light switch but other than that keep as much of a sense of space as possible.

Weve been in 2 houses with exact same layout and I could never resist cluttering up the window sill, and then never dusted it, and then we always put cups of tea there at kids bedtime and it was just too cluttery.

A plant! B&Q have lovely ones

I wouldn’t. Could be a hazard on a tight staircase. Just a nice picture on the wall?

A mirror on the narrow wall to reflect light back but bear in mind when you stagger upstairs knackered you will quite literally shit yourself for a nano second before you realise its your reflection ..

Love that shade of paint - can you tell me the brand/ shade? TIA

Hi all, I didn’t expect so many replies!
You’re right that the pictures are far too low.. I’ve actually been meaning to sort them.

I think a plant is a great idea instead of a candle, will definitely look in to this. And yes to some photos or a hanging plant!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Matte sage paint from Dunelm! It’s excellent quality

I wouldn't put anything there. The space is too small for something not to be knocked over.

Stickortwigs · 09/04/2025 18:45

I’d put a rubber plant as they’re tall and slender. And I will put a plant in any empty space!
