Affordable 7 seater with a decent sized boot

Is this even possible anymore? We currently have a 2011 ford kuga but needing a 7 seater now and have no idea where to start.
i have looked into a ford galaxy but the boot space looks tiny when all seats are up? And I need to fit a double pram in.
also saw one for finance but it was coming in at a total of 20k 😳
I could afford a down payment of 4k and pay the rest off in finance over 3 years I am thinking but my budget would be max 10k.
is this possible? Second hand cars are so expensive now

I thunk you'll struggle to get a 7 seater that also has a decent boot. All the SUV type vehicles that are 7 seaters basically put the 2 extra small seats in the boot so you only have a tiny space behind the third row. Not sure about the s-max but it's probably similar setup to the galaxy. I think both the kodiaq and xc90 have reasonable boot space even in the 7 seater specs but they are likely way out of your price range.

I had a Skoda Kodiaq which was 7 seats (the back two being quite tiny!), but you could have fit a pram in the boot, if you didn’t need any other large cargo.

I had a 2020 that sold for £16k just recently, but i personally wouldn’t be rushing to buy a Skoda (I would never buy another myself but maybe you aren’t as much of a snob as me). 😂

If you need 7 permanent full sized seats, plus storage space, I’d be looking for a passenger van of some sort. If you had something where the seats are removable, you could have more flexibility for carrying large items as well, but you’d have to probably have a custom bulkhead put in, which might be more than you’re looking to pay. Long term for a family that size a van is probably the way to go.

Galaxy is bigger than an s-max. Don’t know about the suv type ones. I think lots of the big looking cars aren’t actually any big on the inside.

this website tells you if a wheelchair will fit in the boot so you can see if a buggy might.

Nissan Elgrand. They are older Japanese imports but have loads of space and are high spec.

Do you need the 7 seater regularly, or just occasionally? We have the ford s max which is great and has a huge boot. However, when we put up both seats 6&7, we can only get in a fold up pushchair and a few extra bits.

If you're needing a 7 seater regularly, you might be better looking for the mini buses. Even then their boots can be quite small (my daughter's school minibus seats 8 but doesn't fit her wheelchair buggy)

The vw sharan and seat albrambha are good for boot space as is the newer shape galaxy, I had a double out and about in the boot of a sharan easily with all 7 seats up. All of the back seats had isofix and moved independently of each other, they also lay flat if not needed. Bonus of sliding doors!

Or a Honda Elysion.

We just bought a citroen picasso 7 seater. Boot is still great even with the seats up, amazing with the seats down, didn't break the bank to buy, we love it.
