I don't want to learn anything or have a heavy storyline, just something super light in the Sophie Kinsella, Carole Matthews, Beth O'Leary style.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

The Graham Norton novels are good and he reads them himself very well. Also the JK Rowling Strike novels are very absorbing and very long which is handy on a long haul flight.

I'm quite partial to a Maeve Binchy for light distraction. Kate Binchy has a lovely voice for audiobooks. I also enjoy Marian Keyes.

Milly Johnston and Cathy Bramley are similar to Sophie Kinsella and Carole Matthew. Jill Mansell is another one along the same lines.

I often find new authors I like by searching for books read by the same narrator (because the narrator makes it breaks the audio experience).

Can’t forget the staple of the Harry Potter books read by Steven Fry… my comfort series that I’ve listened to over and over
