What area?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 06/04/2025 20:37

Butlins if you are near the south coast or Skegness.

kanaka · 06/04/2025 20:42

You can stay in a premier inn near something you’d like to do. Check reviews though - some premier inns are lovely, others totally shit.

Check booking.com lots of different properties for one night or really depends what you are looking for. Literally anywhere is cheaper than center parks. If you need cheap for a few nights the sun holidays are cheap and codes can always be found online :)

Alton towers water park

PermanentTemporary · 06/04/2025 20:47

The Penzance Premier Inn. It's about five yards from the train station. We had literally the biggest hotel room i have ever stayed in there. Get tickets as far in advance as you can manage for whatever station on the line you can get to. Gorgeous town, lovely journey.

Find one of the big swimming pools with water slides like Coral Reef Bracknell. Or Splashdown in Dorset. Google pools with wave machines. Just do a day trip or day and travel lodge

Sorry should have said
my base is Milton Keynes but willing to travel as far as seaside

Yes learnt to ski there, agree its fab.

Tbh I'm surprised somewhere like mk doesn't have an amazing water park, definitely a gap in the market there

What sort of thing are you looking for? Legoland?

Pigeonqueen · 07/04/2025 12:04

Probably too far for you but High Lodge in thetford (actually not that far from CP elveden) is good for a foresty day out, you can hire bikes etc. Have a look at their website, they have various other sites throughout the U.K. I think, I think it’s under forestry UK or something like that.

calishire · 07/04/2025 12:05

What about calypso cove at the Barnsley Metrodome?

Daydreamingforever · 07/04/2025 12:41

Ideally thinking fun pool with outdoor area but tbh it’s not that hot is it 😂😂😂

might try try and get nIce hotel with a pool near Thorpe park or something

I’m saving Alton towers for summer

Alpmare in Scarborough ticks those pool boxes. There's a Premiere Inn
in the town.

Daydreamingforever · 07/04/2025 15:20

Ty for all ideas, I will just pick a hotel with a pool

Travelodge. It's much cheaper however it doesn't have any of the facilities.
