I think I may have a cold sore developing. Im mid 40s and never had one in my life, could I have caught it years ago and it only just be popping up?

My lip is tingly and seems to have a spot developing?

Yes it could have been lying dormant for years.
Or could just be a spot

Can you get spots in the middle of your lip? Its not the edge

Oh ouch. Poor thing. Yes they can be dormant for years. Zovirax asap, don't kiss anyone (especially babies) and hope it's not too hurty. Mine are always in the middle of my bottom lip and they HURT.

Yes, they can lay dormant for years. Mine is always in the bottom left corner of my mouth and I have a permanent scar now.

Don't waste your money on Zovirax if you can help it, buy generic acyclovir. It does exactly the same for a fraction of the price

If it’s a real cold sore it’ll probably crust in a few days and be really painful throughout. They can lay dormant - 90% of people have the cold sore virus in them ! or something like that. Mine only ever come out of exposed to intense sun. That’s it. So i literally didnt know I was prone to cold sores until I went abroad in August around the age of 18. I’ve never had one in the uk and don’t expect ever to. But I pack zovirus religiously when I’m going abroad as they always come out. Bloody annoying.
