I have played the National Lottery for a while, switched to the Postcode Lottery and also Omaze and now don’t do any.

Might do the national lottery again.

What lottery do you play?

Euro millions. If I win, I want to win a decent amount.

Dawnchorussinging · 05/04/2025 09:19

I gave up the National lottery many years ago when they reduced the odds of winning even further. Instead I set up a standing order to buy a £25 Premium bond every month. That gives me a chance of winning something whilst not losing my money.
I also have standing orders for some of the Charity lotteries. But I've never ever won anything on them.

Euros and lotto never get a number

Postcode Lottery because some of it goes to charity, it would annoy me if my neighbours won and I didn’t get a share, and because DH and I enjoy doing the daily quiz on their site.

I wouldn’t bother with Omaze as the houses are all money pits.

Oh yes, forgot to say we have Premium Bonds as well.

National lottery and PBs . Also a charity one where I regularly win my stake back.

PenneyFouryourthoughts · 05/04/2025 10:31

Postcode Lottery and I enter the Euros & lotto if there’s a big rollover.

I’m thinking about investing in PBs, my parents have won a good prize with those.

Postcode lottery, Omaze very occasionally. Euromillions if it’s over £88m 😂 sometimes play the ‘set for life’ too.

TranceNation · 05/04/2025 10:36

I only play when I hear a radio advert for lotto or euro millions for a double or triple rollover. Maybe subconsciously a standard jackpot just isn't enough for me, or more likely I rarely even win 2 quid when I do play so I can't be bothered.

I refuse to pay the idiot tax.

Interesting that you feel the need to come on just for the purposes of insulting people that play lotteries. Rather than making any intelligent contribution.

Good point about Omaze houses being a money pit!

Been on and off with the National Lottery too—had a stretch where I did it every week, then kind of drifted. Lately I’ve been using mtgal for the occasional lottery-style game when I’m just chilling online. One time I hit a small win and used it to treat myself to takeout, which felt like a victory on its own.

danniel567 · 01/01/2026 02:34

I’m a bit on and off with lotteries too. I like to keep it light rather than a weekly habit.
Lately I’ve just been using Lottoland now and then when I fancy a ticket without making a whole thing of it. Never expecting anything big, just a bit of fun.
Premium Bonds still feel like the sensible option though.
