Please tell me your experiences of this place? Thinking about doing a short stay as Camber sounds nice but the resort gets very mixed reviews…..

We went last summer and it was looking quite tired all round. Have stayed in nicer/newer caravans at other Parkdean resorts. Caravan was functional, but kitchen not really set up for 4 to sit and eat, and cooker took forever so only used once.

It was very busy so clearly popular, but not so busy we couldn’t do what we wanted to, but you had to get to the evening entertainment early to get a table.

Our caravan was quite close to the shop/amusements/playground but we weren’t disturbed by any late night noises once the kids were in bed.

Kids loved the day (we did something each morning before heading off for the day) and evening entertainment. We didn’t use the swimming pool as the weather was so nice, and the beach at Camber is beautiful.

Easy walking distance to the beach which as I’ve already mentioned is lovely, and wasn’t overcrowded at all (even in August). Directly opposite the caravan park is a great spot, but if you want toilet/cafe you need to walk along the coast about 5-10 mins and understandably, it’s much busier here.

There’s not a lot to do in Camber itself, but Rye is a nice day out and also Hastings, etc not too far away if you want to get off the caravan park.

Check in was a complete nightmare - people waiting over 2 hours for caravan keys, but think we must just have arrived on a bad day with lots of staff off sick!

At the end of the day, the kids loved it - and it is what it is - a busy, popular, slightly outdated caravan park, in a lovely location.

Forgot to say, some of the kids activities we’d had included for free at other Parkdean resorts were payable at Camber so we gave those a miss as not worth the money.

There are a few “restaurants” on site - we tried the fish & chips place one night - it was ok. Edible, but quite expensive for what you get - it’s a captive audience though as not much else close by.

Thanks so much, that’s all really useful information. Sounds good for a couple of days away.
