I am moving to ferndown Bournemouth from.london later this year and I am both excited and nervous about this big change I dont know much about this area so I would love some insights from those already living there.

I am a nurse and mum to 3 beautiful boys , so naturally my biggest concerns are schools - and how are the communities localities what's ferndown like for families any areas you would recommend to avoid
Meeting other mums how do you find mum groups or activities? Are there any good playgroups parks community meet ups?

I would love to connect with other mums in the area make friends and settle in smoothly any advise tips or friendly hellos would much be appreciated
Looking forward to hearing from you all

I lived there till I was 4, so can’t speak of schools (but haven’t heard anything bad recently) but my elderly mum lives there and loves it. People seem friendly and the small high street has all the usual shops etc. Buses to Bournemouth seem more frequent now as well. Hope the move goes well!

I grew up in Ferndown. The first and middle schools were very good but the Upper school was not. It’s been 8 years since I last visited so I don’t know what it is like now but I’ve heard it’s much improved. There are supermarkets and a leisure centre plus good links to Bournemouth. It was a nice place to grow up. The town centre was a bit estate agents and pound shops for me last time I was there. It’s a decent place though generally
