Where can I get them from that isn't too expensive? I'm having an expensive month but do need to get a pair. I've googled but would like personal experience as there are a lot of options out there!

I’ve had a few pairs from different online places and they’ve been fine - v cheap too!
ETA Use the measurements from existing glasses to get a good fit - usually printed on the left arm as eg. 49-21-145

Thanks for the tip!
Any stores you would recommend?

I’ve ordered mine from Asda opticians this time. Cheapest pair was £45 I think - no extra cost for thinning lenses or scratch resistant coating.
Much better value than Vision Express or SpecSavers (£150 was the cheapest I could find with the coating and thinning Shock)

Asda, in fact I'm going to go this week and get some from them, the price is so good and includes varifocal etc

TheDrunkenClam · 01/04/2025 16:00

Last order was from glasses direct - I got 2 pairs for under £60! No complaints from me 😊

Mightymoog · 01/04/2025 16:05

second glasses direct/ spex4less etc.
Miles cheaper and just as good as high street stores

minnienono · 01/04/2025 16:21

Mine are spec savers, got them as part of the 2for1 deal. Two pairs of varifocals for £140 which was pretty reasonable I thought. Varifocals have to be properly fitted so online is no good

Another vote for Asda. You can upgrade to Polaroid lenses for an extra fee.

I might nip up to Asda at the weekend, thanks for the recommendations. I thought I would find them cheaper online.

You can get them cheaper but there's a risk re fit and whether they suit you, unless you are able to try them on somewhere and order same online.

Asda are cheap and decent choice.

clarrylove · 01/04/2025 17:18

Asda are the best and I would always get specs measured and fitted properly.
