Or don't the big outlets do that anymore ?

I've seen stories that are frankly unbelievable, but they wouldn't be funny hoaxes...

Text goes with it...𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: The UK government has officially approved ‘Yorkshire Mean Time’ (YMT), meaning Yorkshire will be 10 minutes ahead of the rest of the country. This change comes after experts confirmed that Yorkshire folk are always ‘ten minutes quicker’ at getting things done
From tomorrow, all clocks in Yorkshire must be adjusted accordingly. Failure to comply may result in weak tea and a lifetime ban from proper fish & chips

The clock in Tom Tower at Christ Church in Oxford genuinely runs on Oxford time, 5 minutes behind GMT because the city is west of Greenwich so there is a “time difference” of 5 minutes.

The hygeine bank have launched there edible soap campaign today. Thought it was April Fools. It isnt.

It's a great initiative highlighting how people in the UK have to decide whether they should spend their very tight budget on showering or eating that day.

I like this one from Marie Curie

I know it's after midday, but is the Concorde on Flightradar an April fools?! Must be I reckon.

There was a story on gmb about a hawk that attacked people. I think now that’s probably not true (I was half asleep at the time)

That’s real - it’s been on for a week.

Mae Dupp, of business organisation the UK Employers Federation, said: ‘This is an incredibly foolish idea.'

Mae Dupp - Not bad Daily Mail 👏

And Kat Napp 😂

That one is true. It’s been terrorising people in a village close to us for ages.

thankyounextplease · 01/04/2025 12:27

The Daily Mail is an april fool every day of the year.

gmgnts · 01/04/2025 12:32

The National Trust for Scotland had a nice story on Facebook about a local island community knitting hats for puffins to keep them warm in the breeding season! Complete with cute photoshopped photo (which I can't upload here for some reason)

This one is quite amusing :

Outrage over planned nudist wild camp

Locals have hit out at a new annual nudist wild camp at Stickle Tarn, Langdale. Nuddi-Fest is taking place for the first time this weekend where nudists hope to erect tents beside the tarn.

Festival organisers are hoping the event will allow likeminded nudists to hang out together and the first 100 attendees have been offered free tick repellent.

However, locals are not happy. Amiria Butt said her biggest fear was the risk of a bush fire at the beauty spot. Another local, Dick Long said that people would just come to fly drones over the event.

If you have any concerns, please can you contact one of the Lake District Authorities on 0898 69 69 69

There are a number of naked festivals in the UK.
Nude-fest, NKD, Everybody, Party In The Stark, Bare Bootleg………
I’ve been to almost all of them!

I think Trump has sort of ruined it. You can pretty much take a quote from him any day of the year and wonder if it’s genuine or not 😂

BIWI · 01/04/2025 11:47

Have you got a link for that one, please?

It was on facebook but had been reposted. I am not very good at facebook as I rarely use it. Sorry. You might find it if you do a search.

RustyBear · 01/04/2025 12:38

Our local paper had a story about the local window company (whose owner is a local councillor) introducing new double glazing with tropical fish living inside.

dogcatkitten · 01/04/2025 12:38

Trump?

He started a bit early though.

It very definitely is an April fools.

MissyB1 · 01/04/2025 12:44

The waitrose one states that only adults are allowed to purchase Easter eggs. You will be asked for ID, no ID no egg.

That's not very funny ...

Thanks to whoever posted the Cern one, which did make me laugh - those wacky scientists!

Brilliant. Also the #1 "flight" tracked worldwide.

That's why the like of Spitting Image wouldn't work on him. The real one is even more surreal.

Comefromaway · 01/04/2025 13:04

There have been a couple of Concorde flights on Flight Radar today.

Natsku · 01/04/2025 14:16

Just saw one from a transport company introducing their new sauna tram route, when you can commute while enjoying the sauna, complete with viewing windows so everyone can see inside.
Best bit was all the comments saying they wish it wasn't an April fools because they love the idea Grin

No, that's actually true. It's been going on for a few months now! A village in Hertfordshire.

I got this from Dolce Gusto!!
