My teen gaming.

Dara O’Brien telling me about pyramids.

PeriMoan · 31/03/2025 23:38

A cross between a hum and a whistle - just the sound my tinnitus is currently taking the form of.

I'm currently sleeping in a separate bed from my husband (perimenopause insomnia) so I don't even have his breathing or the occasional snore to break it up.

I genuinely don't think I know what silence is as I have constant ringing /buzzing /humming in my ears.

WhoWhereWhatWhy · 31/03/2025 23:41

Joshua Kadison singing Jessie, a song from the 90s. Just part of my inner monologue!

Endofyear · 31/03/2025 23:45

Gogglebox on the tv and husband snoring!

JBJ · 31/03/2025 23:48

My fan in the bedroom, to drown out the tinnitus! Can’t sleep in a completely silent room as my own body noises drive me insane. Also the dog snuffling in his sleep.

hereismydog · 31/03/2025 23:49

• My baby grunting and thumping his legs down on the mattress because he’s fighting sleep
• The white noise playing on the Alexa that is helping him lose the fight Grin

As I’ve typed this, it’s 1-0 to Alexa and the grunting/thumping has turned to happy little snores!

SanFranBear · 31/03/2025 23:50

My two kitties munching their bedtime biscuits and that's it - so calm and peaceful, I love this time of night!

ohfourfoxache · 31/03/2025 23:53

DS2 breathing and sucking his thumb

loropianalover · 31/03/2025 23:55

Waves on the beach and my Alexa at volume 1 playing an audiobook that I leave on overnight.

NoviceVillager · 31/03/2025 23:57

Nothing! It’s why I moved here

Pandimoanymum · 31/03/2025 23:57

The cat on my lap making little cat snores in her sleep
DS in his room laughing & chatting with friends via Xbox
Intermittent earworm that started this afternoon. Too Sweet by Hozier

I do this with audiobooks too, it’s very soothing. Especially if Juliet Stephenson is doing the reading.
I don’t have the waves though, jealous of that!

I can’t sleep in the silence, luckily there are plenty of audiobooks up on Spotify and YouTube for us!! 😄 although so many with AI voices lately so I have to sift through to find something normal.

rosemarble · 01/04/2025 00:05

The hum of the fridge, and relishing that it's quiet enough to hear it!
We have the radio on a lot or I listen to audio books, so it's not a particularly noisy house, but it's a busy one so peace is welcome.

Just about to go to bed with my audio book (followed by my real book). The next noise after than will be the bastard alarm.

Fgfgfg · 01/04/2025 00:13

Car horns, engines revving, people shouting, fireworks. It's Eid.
DP and 2 cats snoring and one of them snores louder than DP 😻All oblivious to the noise outside.
Now also music from passing cars (which aren't really passing because of the traffic jam).

JennySayQuoi · 01/04/2025 00:15

Motorbike in the distance
The fan on my computer
Dear Prudence playing in my head for some reason

mondaytosunday · 01/04/2025 01:11

My dog’s tummy gurgling and her deep breathing (she’s asleep on my bed). A fox outside investigating a food bin (rubbish collection tomorrow). Hopefully not mine!
A car some streets away. I live in London.

Silvercoffeenosugar · 01/04/2025 01:27

ASMR ‘slime’ noises which have FINALLY lulled by AuDHD tween to sleep. Question is, dare I turn it off yet?

My other child’s slightly sniffly sleeping breaths.

Also, a silence where our beloved old dog would be usually be sleep squeaking and groaning 💔 oh we miss him so…

Borgonzola · 01/04/2025 01:39

My 7 week old snoring Smile

Magpie50 · 01/04/2025 04:30

At work so a fridge humming, a ticking clock and doors banging.

Natsku · 01/04/2025 05:51

My collegues chatting at the coffee table. Some machine running in the work area. A bird chirping.

codegeass · 01/04/2025 10:33

Birds chirping and seemingly having some sort of argument. And of course, some occasional noise from a nearby construction site.

Harbourofdiscovery · 01/04/2025 10:43

My Air con unit that needs a service, bloody neighbours dragging furniture around instead of lifting it, bus horns a plenty.
