Picnic location

I’m hoping the hive mind can help me find our next family gathering/picnic location to hire for the day/part day.

Very loosely somewhere like Twickenham. We meet family from all over England once a year. At the moment we meet in a WI hall but the location is a bit rural and thus takes a long time on smaller roads to get there.

Requirements are indoor area in case weather is poor, with toilets, tables and tea making (not essential). Outdoor area/garden where we can hopefully gather if the suns’ out.
Parking and disabled access essential.
Somewhere that you would hire for a kids birthday party - church hall, village hall, community room etc.

Thanks :)

have you tried googling scout huts of areas you’re interested in going to? They can be a fairly affordable venue hire option

@Wigtopia no, that’s my next plan to google.
I was hoping there may me some helpful people with some tried and tested locations

I can’t offer tried and tested, but definitely do recommend scout huts if you don’t get any other suitable ideas 🙂

I found out recently that the scouts own most of the buildings they use so don’t have to cover rents which means they are often very affordable to hire out. Good luck in your quest!

Village halls & cricket clubs are also good to Google in your target area

Thank you both, will get onto it!

I can help with Twickenham itself! 🙋‍♀️ The Etna Centre has a couple of rooms that might fit the bill.

I also know a good scout hut but the outside space is a bit overlooked and you could only get a couple of cars in there.
