Kids clothes - how many ?

Am in the midst of sorting out my kids wardrobes. 3 kids. Mainly focusing on older ones at moment, age 8 and 6.

I need to find the right balance between enough stuff so we don't run out of clean t-shirts and not too many that the wardrobes are overflowing and I'm just creating laundry. Which is a never ending cycle.

DS has 4 sets of school uniform and DD has 3 and this works fine. It's the other stuff! At the moment it feels like they have loads but I know I'll inevitably get to the Easter hols and run out of clean clothes 😀.

So what do yours have and does it work?

I have 2 DC and they both have enough clothes to make 15 outfits, this is because we have two 14 night/15 day holidays a year and I don’t do washing on holiday! They both wear school uniform five days a week, they both come home filthy so I don’t make them get changed when they get home. My youngest DC inherits the older ones old clothes so I mainly just buy for the older one but if I see something really nice I might treat them both to it.

The need less as they get older, and the clothes get more expensive.

I have boys and generally at that age they would have a 3-4 joggers/trackies, a pair of jeans/chinos, 4-5 pairs of shorts, 10 t-shirts, 3-4 hoodies and a few smarter shirts/polos. Plus swim wear and sports kits. Probably could get away with less if I was quicker with the washing!
