Video enabled laptop for ADHD assessment

I've finally got an appointment booked.
I need a laptop that can take a video assessment.
Normally I use my mobile for interviews and the like however I can't for this.
Anyone suggest a cheap one for me as I'm hopeless with tech or gadgets.
Thanks in advance.

Could you not ask around friends and family to see if someone can lend you one?

This, or your local library will most likely have ones you can sign out and borrow, so it's definitely worth double checking

Sorry if I'm being dim, why can't you use your phone?

whatisforteamum · 29/03/2025 16:45

They don't allow it.
Maybe it's because if your hands are free you might move or fidget more.
I'm not sure.
Library is a good idea thank you.

You probably won't be able to use a library for this because they will insist you are in a private area and alone. You'll need to borrow a laptop. If you can't do thst then tell them and then ask them what they expect you do to if they can't assist.

Fair enough.

Some libraries will allow you to take the laptop home so long as you have a library membership and bring it back after the specified time period, so it's definitely worth checking 😄

How would they know? Just prop your phone up instead of holding it

StoorieHoose · 29/03/2025 17:05

sorry read the op wrong

DD had to do this and I think their software needs a laptop to work. Do you have DC's at a school and could the school lend you one?

the test has movement tracking software that can’t run on phones. It has to run on a laptop or pc.

It doesn't have to be a laptop, you can use your desktop, my husband had one last year and they were fine with that. Also some assessments were in person.
