Nintendo Switch or old Wii?

We have a PS4 that the kids love playing Minecraft on, but we want a console that we can all play games on together. Kids are almost 8&6. Would you recommend a Switch or Wii for a family to play on? Thanks ☺️

We have both but because we bought a Wii back in 2007 and although there are bits they like it looks nearly 20 years old!

the switch is much better now - a new one is coming out soon. We have Mario Party and Mario Kart

The new Nintendo console is coming out soon (the release date is coming later this week) so I'd wait for the inevitable price drop before buying a Switch. We're using the WiiU atm as our Switch inexplicably broke last year and everyone's having a lot of fun with it. The new one will also be backwards compatible with Switch games though, so if you do buy a Switch you'll be able to keep your games if you buy the next console in a couple of years.

You can get a Wii and games for a really cheap price.
My console was £20 for a charity shop almost ten years ago.
CEX sell the games for as little as 50p.
I prefer the size of the controllers compared to the Switch (extra controllers can be oddly expensive though).
For young kids a Wii is great.
