I searched for a thread on this but couldn't see one, so apologies if I've missed it.
There has been a 7.7 earthquake in Myanmar, with effects felt as far away as Bangkok. According to some estimates, the death toll could be significant due to the fact it was a shallow quake, which apparently causes more damage.
Myanmar is also in the midst of a civil war, complicating the rescue and recovery mission.
Thinking of everyone in that region, it looks like this could an absolutely devastating event.
