Eye test cost in your area?

I've normally had eye tests then bought either glasses or replacement lenes in 1 overall cost. I wrongly thought the actual eye test part was about £25 and the more advanced retinal imaging, maybe another £20.

I've recently moved, 2hrs from London, and rang an independent optician who charge £70 for both tests. I will need new glasses also, but what do opticians charge in your area?

£25 at specsavers

Does this include the retinal scan pics too? Or just the eye test?

Just the eye test. I think the retinal scan was an extra tenner.

I've not long had both an eye test and retinal scan at Specsavers and it cost a total of £30. Your independent is taking the piss with those prices.

I'm in Scotland too.
I've never paid for an eye test. I have a family history of glaucoma so get tested every year.

I have paid for the extra retinal imaging though. And I think that was £20.
I must say my optician is brilliant. Even though I moved away from the city I used to live in 10 years ago I still travel back to the same opticians.

Free eye test - scotland
Extra £20 for OCT scan
