Holiday price for a family of five

Hi 😊 I’m looking for a holiday for me, my partner and our 3 kids (9,6,3) for the summer holidays (August), and we’ve found somewhere that looks great in Alanya, Turkey that looks great

It’s ’ultra all inclusive’ so free ice creams etc as well, and with the flights it comes to about £5400. But we’d also have to pay for a transfer to the airport and back, both at home and in Turkey so it’ll be closer to about £5700.

Is this a reasonable price? We haven’t been for about 6 years so I haven no idea what to expect!

Yep, sounds about right for a fairly decent hotel.

Regretsmorethanafew · 24/03/2025 21:37

Transfer is about 30 quid but it's usually included in an all inclusive..what's the resort?

Chris1989 · 24/03/2025 21:47

It’s Long Beach (hoping someone has been there and can offer feedback too 😊 ). There’s cheaper ones around but the reviews are quite bad and things like ice cream and extra

I plan to book with hotel/flight separate and have a private transfer so it’s a bit quicker

Oh I went there last year 😆 honestly, I’d say keep looking…

It’s absolutely massive, but not in a great way, it’s a bit like going on holiday to somewhere like the Trafford Centre/Bluewater or similar on a Saturday afternoon, just hundreds and hundreds of people milling about wherever you go…

It’s a bit in the middle of nowhere, so you can’t really go out.

Also the food isn’t great and the rooms are tiny… 🫣😬

OP try the Jiva Beach resort in Calis. We are going back there next week after a great holiday last year and it has cost us £3000ish for flights, transfers and two rooms (I’m going with my dad and my 5 year old). It’s ultra all inclusive, lovely pools, private beach. Not sure of the prices in August but it’s worth a look!

Thanks everyone :) still looking around but nice to know the price range is expected

Don't take kids to Turkey.. 99% guarantee they will become ill.
And far too hot in August.
Try a canary island.
Or France

Nonsense. I've brought kids to Turkey three times, nobody ever got sick.

We have booked for 10 nights 2 a 2ch 1infant in school holiday £3000 self catered. We have tried all inclusive a few times and don’t rate the food at all. Even basic things like Ice cream, plain pasty kids aren’t fussy but they were gross! There are good all inclusives out there but you have to pay a bomb for them and they are usually not near things so it they suck you don’t have much option for meals out.

saying that we went to an all inclusive in lanzaroye Tui holiday village and that was ok but still prefer eating out ,… I hate buffets in general though so probs just not for me!

I agree don’t take the kids to Turkey.
better options Spain, Canaries or Greece

FoodieToo · 25/03/2025 17:32

Agree re Turkey in August ! NIghtmare . It's just too hot to do anything at all . Even the sea was warm and not at all refreshing . We were in a lovely 5 star and barely left it . I felt ill with the heat . Was never so glad to see grey old Dublin again !!!!
Will definitely return to Turkey but in April or October .

I've been to Turkey 6 times, 3 of them with kids. Not once has anyone been ill.
