Unusual weather?

In the North West here, so it feels slightly unusual to have woken to solid, full force sunlight bith blue skies for over 8 weeks, possibly even more, I can't recall exactly.

And at this time of year it is usually quite changeable. We had one spot of rain that cleared up within the hour, and returned back to this really, insanely bright sunlight. Definitely sunglasses weather! Sometimes the wind changes but that's it.
It feels like film set or something slightly surreal.

When did the weather here become so ....reliable? Grin

Damn it, your message just prompted me to have a look at the forecast for this evening. Sunshine changing to rain, I'm blaming you. You've jinxed us.

Lockdown 2020.

ScottBakula · 24/03/2025 14:50

I decided to make the most of it last week as I had a couple of days off work.

Its springtime and spring is always changeable and unpredictable.

TheChosenTwo · 24/03/2025 14:57

8 weeks?? 8 weeks of blue skies and sunshine?? <packs house in preparation of moving up north>

Minieggsarecrack · 24/03/2025 15:56

8 weeks?! I’m in the NW too and it’s definitely been mostly grey and/or wet and cold up until last week. Unless you meant 8 days :)

garlictwist · 24/03/2025 16:08

Also in the NW and I have not noticed this at all...8 weeks? whereabouts are you?

I should of said I am in the NW too, but this photo was taken on the North East Coast

I predict we are in for a long, warm, dry summer.

Don't hold me to it though, but if I'm right, I shall come back to the thread later in the year and say I told you so.

😂

I'm near Lancaster. It has been very sunny and bright non stop for weeks on end, rather unlike spring! Do agree with a pp who mentioned 2020, it was similar then, yes.

8 weeks?! the odd day has been nice here, I'm in the NW.

BatchCookBabe · 24/03/2025 20:35

It hasn't been 8 weeks of 100% sunshine in the north west. It hasn't been like that anywhere in the UK for the last 8 weeks!

It has been pleasant and sunny more during February and March than it has been for about 5 years though. There have been some grey cold spells a few times though - 4-5 days of it, before returning to sun and brightness for a week. But it's been nice/niceish about two thirds of the past 8 weeks.

But 8 weeks of none stop sunshine/no rain? Nah. I think you're talking about a dream @Instaattheend 😆
