I’m visiting my elderly aunt tmrw. My elderly mum lives 300 miles away from her and they rarely see each other but talk on the phone regularly.
I would like to set up a video call between them while I’m there.
There is no internet in my auntie’s house.
I think that WhatsApp on my phone, through to my sister’s phone ( who will be helping my mum) should work ok but screen is very small.
I will have my IPad with me which has Facebook/Facetime.
Question….Can I use my iPad, in a house with no internet, to link with my sister’s phone?
Thank you!

Your only option is to connect your iPad to your iPhones network connection using the hotspot. Go to your iPhone Settings and turn Hotspot on. Then, go to the iPad WiFi settings and connect to WiFi - this WiFi will be your name (eg. Amy’s iPhone). You’ll then be able to use the iPad to make the FaceTime call.

Only if your iPad has wi-fi enabled, some models didn’t. Actually @CoffeeFluffwould that work on any iPad model?

Thanks for your help. We used WhatsApp in the end which was fine. Two sisters over 90 saw each other for the first time in 12 months. They have the same poetry book and read some to each other - 300 miles apart! Just lovely.
