Hibive been prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain and pins and needles only 100mg but so worried about starting it because of all side effects I've read also it says don't drink and I'm not a big drinker but do like a glass of wine or 2 at weekend

I posted on your other thread as I’m on gabapentin. Yes you can drink alcohol but it’s not advisable as it will make you even more sleepy and groggy, it basically increases the effects of alcohol.

I have also posted at length on your other thread regarding DH’s mixed experiences with Gabapentin,
However it did not make him sleepy and groggy and he enjoys a drink.

I've been on gabapentin for years. 100mg is a very low dose and you are unlikely to experience much in the way of side affects if at all.
(I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and initially was on HUGE doses... they did make me dozy at first)
I don't drink much these days..a glass or two at weekends at most, but I used to drink more and it didn't cause any issues.

Hi everyone
Can I ask does anyone suffer from occipital neuralgia or trigeminal neuralgia ?
I'm experiencing slight pain on one side of head with very sensitive scalp, facial tingling and light headedness. Aswell as pins and needles in lower arm and hand. Ive been to a and e a few times cause with the symptoms you would think it's similar to a stroke but I've all clear on that.
I'm thinking it's definitely a nerve issus but any ideas would be much appreciated
