I've had coffee and now contemplating my choices Smile

Two cups of tea.
(Side order of slight regret over the final glass of red 🙄)

SpringIsSpringing25 · 23/03/2025 08:39

In my fantasy world, I'd be having a late breakfast of avocado and brie on sourdough, some properly cooked hash brown (pile of, not the sad little hash brown 'pieces'! Some well fried mushrooms and a vegetarian sausage.

Then not eat for the rest of the day!!

But in reality, I'll be having an Arla protein yoghurt before I take my medication, I should have done both already, but it's Sunday and I can't be bothered!!

It's lovely reading about everybody's choices though!!

& I will be having latte to follow!!

Going out for breakfast about 11 to a Lebanese place so possibly shakshuka!

As a typical I'm well behind the eight ball this thread is the first time I have heard of it!!

I don't eat eggs (or meat) so unfortunately it's not something I would eat, but it looks like a great breakfast for those who do!! Though I've just been reading in many countries it's dinner dish (or side dish) rather than breakfast.

Went to Spa Terminus in Bermondsey yesterday so have aged black bacon from London Smoke and Cure to go in ONG ONG Buns milk rolls.

i hate pretentious this sounds but normally it’s white toast and butter

Crumpets. Got a pack of 9 warburtons with a yellow sticker for 20p yesterday! 🤣

Good score!! Who do you have to share them with and what is your choice of topping?

It’s such a great breakfast! I have, on several occasions, lay in bed the night before excited about it 😂

I went with eggs and spinach - same seasonings as shakshuka but drier and greener!

Porridge and chopped pear. Same as every day as I love it. Today there's a few blueberries sprinkle in as well.

Probably best to get some food in you and smother the feeling of regret!!

Slices of grilled/fried halloumi is a good substitute for eggs - I sometimes do this.

Shakshuka is taking over 😂

HappySheldon · 23/03/2025 08:48

Last week I opened up the packaging of a toastie maker that we got for our wedding in 2005 and we have had cheese and tomato toasties ever since.

Taytocrisps · 23/03/2025 08:48

Coffee, toast, butter and jam.

Giggorata · 23/03/2025 08:50

Eggs Benedict for me.

SushiDisco · 23/03/2025 08:50

Avocado and tomato on sourdough toast. I have it most days and never get bored of it.

Congratulations!!💕🥂

I would have been 15 when you got married, I lived overseas and got my drivers license instead!! The boy I was seeing at the time was lovely but sadly his mum died and he had to move overseas to live with family and due to being teenagers and only having snail male we eventually lost touch, I do wonder what he's up to these days but I haven't been able to find him on social media and I don't have much of a presence on it either!!

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely meal out and really celebrate your life together!!

🥂 with many more years to come🌷

I can't make head nor tail of this first paragraph

Ive only ever known it even here in the Gulf as a breakfast dish.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. Typical Sunday breakfast in this house as both DC love it too.

Same here. I stir strips of smoked salmon into the eggs while they're cooking 😋

Good idea!!

I did look up alternative to eggs, but the ones I found were all meat!

There are so many recipes for it, what's your favourite?

Butter, one with jam and one with marmite! They are all mine and most will end up in the freezer for next weekend!
