Has anybody else done it?

Yes, you will.

The obvious more expensive is housing but even that depends where in the North and South. If you live in Ilkley, Harrogate or Edinburgh those places will be more expensive than many places in the South.

Some things in London are comparatively cheap eg public transport and council tax, also possibly heating if you use less due to warmer weather and/or smaller home.

Many things are about the same eg things sold by national retailers.

Yes you will. We moved from south to north and would never go back because of the difference

Eating out is so much more expensive. When I travel north I marvel how cheap roast dinners are.

Water might be cheaper, especially if on a meter. I'm amazed how much some people say they pay for water outside of London/Thames Water.

This can't be a serious question!!!
