Why is Shake'n'Vac, and similar, sold in such paltry amounts?

This is light-hearted as I realise it is the first worldest of problems, but yet again I have bought a tube of Shake'n'Vac equivalent and it has barely covered the small living room in my flat, let alone the rest of the (small) flat, which is what I was hoping.

I realise I just need to retain this information and purchase two or three tubes at once - but am I using it wrong? Do other people eek more uses out of it? Would it not make more sense to at least have the option to purchase it in larger amounts? (Surely better in terms of packaging costs, as well as the environment). I never see larger tubes available, just the standard one for about £1.50.

Thoughts, anyone?

🤣

What I really want to know is did it put the freshness back?!

Bloody hell. A container of S&V used to last us weeks! You are using far too much, it’s not great tbh to be sprinkling so much of it about. We actually stopped using it years as it caused our dog dermatitis, I also had no clue this was still being made.

QuirkyWriter · 22/03/2025 13:24

i bought a tube of it months ago just for the area of carpet my dog sleeps on upstairs. It’s lasted very well, maybe you’re a bit too generous in your shaking. I find a little goes a long way.

Well probably not sounds more of a sprinkle than a good shake worth 😀

Op if you bought it at a £shop or similar it's probably packaged for that?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 22/03/2025 13:30

You’ve used waaay to much!

Ilovelurchers · 22/03/2025 23:15

Thank you guys - when I get my next tube I shall attempt to be way more sparing.

And I can confirm that it did indeed put the freshness back......

It's not actually called Shake'n'Vac any more - I've takeb the package to the recycling now so I can't remember what it is called.....

I am sorry, this is probably the most pointless thread ever, isn't it?

It has helped me though. I will try using less. Thanks to those who answered......

Just use baking soda, it removes odors too and has no perfumes in it.
