I'll be down in London for an over night stay and a show at Leicester Square Theatre. We've booked Leicester Square Rooftop Bar for drinks and now need to find somewhere for food. Ideally fairly close by. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't know London at all so going in completely blind to where could be good so would be nice to have some suggestions. Only dietary requirements is I'm vegetarian but not fussy so will eat most things!

Bocca di Lupo on Archer Street. Modern Italian, serves all day, small plates, good for vegetarians, nicely buzzy.

If you like Indian I’d head to Mowgli, which is about a 10 min walk away. Delicious.

China town is right there too if you like that?

Bella Pasta in Leicester Square.

Bancone is nice and good value.

The Ivy, original, if you like that sort of thing.

Cafe Murano

Agree Bocca di Lupo

I wouldn’t risk not having a reservation with any of these

Old Compton Brasserie nice, can people watch if you get an outside table

Theres any and every type of food you can imagine, so if you can be more specific with your brief, people can probably suggest something very specific!

edit: Mildred’s also worth a look if you want something specifically veggie!

Most places in china town are great, google a few if you want one with best reviews. They are also pretty speedy depending on time with the show etc.
We often say we only have an hour or so and they are really helpful to turn over the courses a bit quicker.

We've got a Mowgli up here and actually that was the last place I went to with the friend I'm going to London with. Not a huge fan of Bella Pasta.

Bocca di Lipo looks fab, as does Old Compton Brassiere - not sure if we'll be lucky enough with the weather to sit outside! We're down mid April. Mildred's looks right up my street, my pal is pretty easy osy with food so she might be convinced to eat vegan!

China Town is actually a great shout as well as the Chineses where I am are awful! So would be good to get some food Chinese food. This is why I'm glad I asked as despite visiting China Town before, I had no clue it was near Leicester Square!

We don't really have anything specific as we're both pretty happy to eat anything as a long as it's good!!

Il Cucciolo up Charing Cross Road, small Italian not too pricey. Fumo on St Martins Lane, All Bar One on the sw corner ofLeicester Square was good recently.

The Cork & Bottle wine bar on Leicester Square is an institution, with good food:

We've booked Mildreds. Menu looks fantastic and my pal agrees!
