Crush injury - last 2 fingers numb but pain not at all bad when not moving the arm or fingers! I know that there is only one way to be certain but just wondering if anyone has done similar!

Bruise or break?

God that looks painful! I hope you are at/heading to A&E now to get it looked at?

I’m normally so careful with myself! I’m thinking of just waiting until tomorrow, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time 😬

Crushed by what? I don’t think numb fingers sounds good regardless of bruise or break!

Get it checked - I broke my wrist a couple of years ago and it didn't look a bad as that, and you have numb fingers and pain - off to a and e with you girl !

Between a wall and a horses fat arse 🤦‍♀️ I’ve never broken anything before but assumed the pain would be unbearable? I’m so unequipped for adulting 😂

This is exactly what A&E is for. It looks bad and numb fingers are not good. Tonight!

Tulipvase · 21/03/2025 22:00

I’ve broken a few things and it was far from unbearable. I would say that def needs checking, especially with the numb fingers. Hope it’s all ok!

JurgenKloppsTeeth · 21/03/2025 22:01

I would definitely be off to A&E with that.

Treesarenotforeating · 21/03/2025 22:01

Can you move it without pain ?
numb fingers could be nerve damage , please get it looked at

TomatoSandwiches · 21/03/2025 22:03

I left my broken toes for a week before they starting really hurting too much so it's not always apparent at first, I'd take myself off to A&E with that, looks awful and will keep getting worse btw.
Hopefully they can give you something for it as well.

One thing I have learnt is that you can't tell from looking at the limb or at a picture.

I broke my leg but it wasn't bruised or swollen -it just hurt. Other times I have broken my hand and various toes snd they have had massive amounts of swelling and bruising.

NotaCoolMum · 21/03/2025 22:16

It could definitely be broken- there are different types of fractures and it’s a VERY real possibility that yours is! Go to a&e xx

NotaCoolMum · 23/03/2025 10:34

Any update @ComputerIsLoading? How’s your arm today?

DustyLee123 · 23/03/2025 10:36

With that lump it could definitely be broken. What did they say OP?

MargaretThursday · 23/03/2025 10:38

I could say break. It looks swollen and the bruise looks right round the arm.

Sorry, but "horse's fat arse" made me laugh! 😅
Only an x-ray will tell. I had a fall recently, taken to hospital in ambulance. Paramedic said my hip must be fine by the way I was moving my leg. In actuality my leg was involuntarily bending so my heel met my bum, as any other position was agony. I said nothing. X ray showed I had indeed broken my hip, the ball snapped clean off, treated with total hip replacement the next afternoon.
Oh, and I'd also broken my wrist too. 🙄
Moral - never assume anything before the x-rays. And keep away from horse's arses! Hope you're on the mend soon. 💐

plominoagain · 23/03/2025 10:56

Bloody horses ! I’d def go to A and E - it looks swollen to me and you must know what horsewomen are like - we down play everything! (Speaking as someone who slipped off the mounting block when the horse moved away , and tried to shunt her shinbone through her knee cap . Did I go to hospital immediately? Nope, rode the horse out did evening stables and then drove herself to an and e. Then had to sheepishly ring husband for a lift home as was encased in plaster from ankle to hip ( broken tibia) . So go !

AbigailisPartiedOut · 23/03/2025 11:10

Hope you got it checked out. I once went roller skating after drinking a bottle of wine (don't do this) I fell and was convinced I hadn't broken anything as I could still wiggle my fingers and move my arm. Carried on skating. Next day sober, went to a&e. 6 weeks in plaster for a broken arm.

At least mine wasn't the only stupid injury that day. Bloke also in x ray with a broken leg from falling off his kids bouncy castle while drunk 😂

ScentOfAMoomin · 24/03/2025 20:30

How did you get on OP? Was it broken?
